Hi, I’m Esther. I use Pilates as a tool for movement re-education.
Esther’s story
Growing up I wasn’t an athletic person and preferred quiet and intellectual activities. I ran my first 10k road race in junior year of university and later on experimented with all sorts of exercise and workout trends: weight lifting, yoga, marathon training, swimming.
My own experience of returning to exercise after a severe lower back injury led me to pilates as a tool for movement re-education.
What to expect in Esther’s pilates sessions
My practice is tailored to be progressive and functional for daily life, focusing on achieving effective and pain-free movement.
I will guide you to move your body consciously, and that each pilates exercise is done with precision and awareness. My mission is to help you break old habits, and to move and live pain-free beyond your weekly studio sessions.
Previously, Esther has been instructing at numerous physiotherapy clinics and pilates studios across Hong Kong in group classes (up to 8) and 1-on-1 settings.
Esther grew up in Vancouver and Macau, and has spent the past decade in Hong Kong. She is capable of delivering sessions in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Outside of the clinic, Esther enjoys hitting the gym to lift weights, reading the latest fiction novel and making pottery. She recently started taking tennis lessons.
